Plenty for all at North Devon Leisure Centre Open Day
From tiny tumblers to gym tasters and swimming, refurbished centre offers a range of discount sessions to mark its reopening.
THE grand reopening of North Devon Leisure Centre on Saturday will offer something for visitors of all ages.
Parkwood Leisure is providing more than 20 different activities, most costing just �1 each and showcasing the huge variety available at the centre.
“On the Open Day and as a thank you for peoples’ patience we wanted to give them something back by reducing the costs dramatically,” said administrator Donna McLennan
“We’d like to aim at local young families, as a lot of new parents and families don’t know about the variety of parent-accompanied activities we offer, plus cr�che and child care facilities.”

The main events will be running from 9.30am-1pm and there is something for the whole family to try. For younger members there is trampolining, Tiny Tumblers sessions, soft play, squash, cheerleading and football coaching.
There are judo sessions for both juniors and adults, plus family badminton as well as badminton and indoor bowls for the over 50s.

Also �1 are many of the centre’s core classes and activities, including gym taster sessions, body pump and body balance classes, spin cycle classes and squash.
Those taking to the water to test out the fully refurbished pool and wet side changing area can also try out the brand new Aqua Zumba class.
It is also an opportunity to find out more about Aquazone, Parkwood Leisure’s swimming lesson programme, which operates in partnership with the Amateur Swimming Association’s National Plan for Teaching Swimming. It offers lessons for both children and adults on a group or one-to-one basis.
From 9.30am up to 5pm the centre will be hosting Campo Adventure, a sample day of its school holiday club that will include entertainment with Merlin, swimming games and pool inflatable fun, kwik cricket and kite making, dodge ball, art, face painting and much more.
After, visitors can relax in the newly relaunched caf� – Caf� Vita, which has a new layout, a fresh look and a far wider healthy options menu of hot and cold food plus a “grab and go” self service area. The caf� will be open to the public from 9am on Friday.
