Plastic Free Barnstaple is holding an official launch night next week.

Everyone is invited to the event at Boston Tea Party from 6.30-9pm on Wednesday, November 21.

The evening will include a screening of short documentary Skye’s The Limit, talks about the plastic pollution problem and what can be done about it, and free advice for businesses.

Two of Barnstaple’s plastic free business champions will also be discussing their journey and customers’ reactions to plastic reduction.

Martin Kennaugh, chairman of Plastic Free Barnstaple, said: “Our Rock Park and riverbank clean last month showed that plastic pollution is a live issue in Barnstaple.

“We had about 70 people, of all ages, helping. We collected 479 plastic bottles, 105 glass bottles and 666 cans - all of which can be recycled - as well as lots of other rubbish.

“We want businesses, community groups and individuals to join us to find out what small changes they can all make.”
