Parents had first glimpse of plans to completely rebuild South Molton Community College.

Exciting plans for a complete rebuild of South Molton Community College have gone on show for the first time.

Parents and local residents were invited to the school on Wednesday evening to cast their eye over plans for the rebuild, which features a modern design and spacious, well-equipped classrooms.

Plans should be submitted by the school before the end of the month, when building contractors will also be announced.

The school heard in January that it had been awarded £10million by the Education Funding Agency (EFA) to undertake the project, which principal Andrew Finney hopes will be finished by 'early 2017'.

"We're now at a stage where we're more or less happy," he said.

"The school's what brings a community together and I want us to still be at the heart of it."
