New haemodialysis treatment centre in Holsworthy will be satellite unit and treat around eight NHS patients a month.
Plans have been lodged for a new haemodialysis treatment centre in Holsworthy.
The change of use application for vacant offices in Holsworthy Industrial Estate was sent to Torridge District Council by Renal Services UK Ltd.
The nearest satellite renal unit to Holsworthy is at South Molton, 32 miles and a 50-minute car journey away. The nearest main unit is in Exeter. The outpatient treatment centre would have three individual haemodialysis stations.
It is estimated eight local NHS patients a month would use the unit in the first two years, rising to 16 patients over three-to-five years.
