Torridge’s community and resources committee ageed to trial the initiative along the riverfront in Bideford.
A trial period is set to take place next year for artists to display their work along the river in Bideford.
Torridge District Council’s community and resources committee agreed to trial the submission, put forward by Councillor John Langton-Lockton, in the spring.
Cllr Langton-Lockton asked the council to grant permission for the sceme to take place on Landivisiau Walk.
He hoped artists could show their work each Sunday during the summer months.
Ward members consulted on the plans were all in agreement, saying it would bring an attraction to an underutilised part of the town.
Members agreed to a trial period in the spring for artists to display ‘suitable’ work on Landivisiau Walk.
