New band formed by some of the members of Reef will be playing at the grand opening of the pub in Westward Ho!

The Pig on the Hill in Westward Ho! will be opening its doors under new ownership with a special performance on Friday.

Gary Stringer, the lead singer of Reef, will be kicking off the pre-opening do on Friday night with his new band Stringerbessant.

The pub will officially open on Saturday, with the new look which has been kept carefully under-wraps revealed.

New owner Matthew Samuel said he and the team were looking forward to opening the doors on the Bank Holiday weekend.

“It’s taken months of hard work and planning to bring this new venue to life and we hope everyone will love it as much as we do

“We will be hosting impromptu music evenings and supper specials plus Sundays will be Hog Roast Day.

“There’s an outdoor children’s adventure play area plus we have plenty of room for alfresco dining and just wait to see what we have done with the Games Room.

“We have plenty to offer everyone, come and join us, have a great time and spread the word about North Devon’s newest place to be.”

Tickets for the pre-opening party on Friday are limited and cost £25 including dinner and music, starting at 6pm.
