Around 300 people braved the rain at Tapeley Park in Instow this weekend.

There were plenty of wagging tails despite the rain at a charity dog show on Saturday.

Animals Asia Charity hosted the fundraising day at Tapeley Park in Instow, teaming up with Dogs Trust.

Despite the torrential downpours, the day went ahead with more than 300 people attending for the dog show, music and entertainment.

Organiser Jacky Hallesy said a quarter of the proceeds from the event would go to Dogs Trust.

She said: “It absolutely poured it down on Saturday but we had a fantastic amount of people.

“The dog show went ahead with Diana Lewis and Pauline Bisset judging.

“All of the entries won prizes and the vets brought towels to help dry them off afterwards.

“Hector Christie donated Tapeley Park for us to use for free, and even dressed up as a bear and had a great time dancing around.”

Animals Asia helps rescue dogs, cats and bears from cruelty and the money raised from the event will go towards this work.
