North Devon Animal Ambulance volunteers had to trek through woodland to rescue an injured roe deer. The charity received a call from a dog-walker who spotted the injured animal. The deer had injuries consistent with being trapped in a nearby barbed wire fence. It was carried back to the animal ambulance and rushed to RSPCA West Hatch in Tauntn where it was treated by an expert wildlife vet. A spokesman for NDAA said: The little deer will remain at West Hatch until she is well enough to be returned to the wild, she will then be collected by one of our ambulance crews and released very close to where she was found, in the hope she will find her family.
