Hartland Carnival saw an absolutely packed event this year with dozens of colourful floats.

Hartland enjoyed its biggest ever carnival, with hundreds turning out to enjoy the parade in the sun.

There were dozens of entries ranging from musical legends, film characters, a roller-coaster and even beer bottles.

Brian Redwood, carnival committee chairman, said: “I think we are getting a reputation for putting on a great show and it just seems to get bigger and better each year.

“It was the most people we have ever had; we filled up both the playing fields parking area and our main parking area, so we will be looking at other car parking for next year.

“For the fist time ever we are also starting to plan over a year in advance for next year, because of how much needs to be organised.

“It was so much fun, a great atmosphere, with loads to do in the Square after the main parade, which stayed very busy until the end at 11pm.

“By the time everyone got up, TDC had done a sterling job with the cleaning and you would hardly know we had such a large event, so thank you to them.”

Next year’s carnival will be on August 12.
