Barnstaples Rock Park erupted in an explosion of colour today (Sunday) for a charity fun run with a big difference. More than 500 runners took part in the towns second kaleidoscopic Colour Me Happy run in aid of North Devon Hospice. Participants taking part in the 3km run were doused with an array of brightly coloured powder in an event inspired by the famous Hindu festival of Holi. Gerard Fawcitt from North Devon Hospices fundraising team said the event would live long in the memory and urged people to submit their sponsorship as soon as possible. Weve seen around 500 people come along to take part in this explosion of colour, but also with the serious goal of supporting North Devon Hospice too. We are looking for everyone taking part to raise sponsorship or make a donation towards the cause, because every pound will make a real difference to the patients and families we look after. We hope that once all the sponsorship is gathered in that the event will have raised over £20,000. This would be a huge achievement. We ask all Colour Me Happy runners to take their time to gather in as much sponsorship as possible, because it will really make a massive difference right here in North Devon.Click here to return to our homepage for more North Devon news.
