Dogs Trust Ilfracombe is hoping to banish misconceptions about the loveable breed as six of their staffies hope for a forever home.

Six 'super' staffies at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe are hoping it will be a happy new year as they hope for a home.

Staff at the West Down rehoming centre are baffles as to why the loveable pooches are being overlooked.

They hope they can banish some of the misconceptions about the breed.

Coco, Max, Pacman, Roger, Rory and Tye are all very different in their temperaments and personalities but the one thing they have in common is that they would all make a perfect companions in the right home.

Elise Watson, Dogs Trust Ilfracombe rehoming centre manager, said: "We have a number of Staffies looking for their forever homes and hope that local dog lovers will find room in their hearts and homes for these big-hearted hounds.

"Staffies are a very bouncy and enthusiastic breed who are always eager to please.

"They thrive on training and learning new skills so given the right home and handling they make very loving and loyal pets.

"Most staffies are active by nature so they do need families that have plenty of time to play with them and provide tough toys for them to keep themselves busy with.

"Coco, Max, Pacman, Roger, Rory and Tye at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe have a real zest for life with so much love to give."
