Bidefords brand new Starbucks is set to open its doors on Monday. The Starbucks is the first of the national chain in North Devon and has been built at the Atlantic Park site. At the same site, the towns first Premier Inn is opening today (Friday) and a new Lidl store opened just down the road yesterday. The Starbucks will be a drive-thru with seating inside as well, and has created 12 new jobs. Planning permission was granted to open a pizza outlet in part of the Starbucks building, but so far this plan has not come to fruition. Bideford mayor David Howell will officially cut the red ribbon at 2pm on Monday at Starbucks. Torrington choir group Ploughcapella will also be bringing seasonal cheer to the festivities by singing Christmas carols for customers. Customers will have the opportunity to donate to North Devon Hospice collection pots during the grand opening. Amish Patel, director of franchisee Amsric Ltd said: We are thrilled to be opening the first drive-thru Starbucks in the North Devon area with a team full of knowledgeable baristas. The new store is a perfect spot for customers to enjoy their favourite beverage in a comfortable environment, whether its to rest tired feet during shopping, to quickly drive-thru to pick up a coffee or come by to work in a quiet corner. We look forward to becoming a part of this close community and getting to know our local customers. Gill Skan, senior operations manager at Starbucks UK added: Bideford is a beautiful location for this new drive-thru store. Were delighted to continue to build on our partnership with Amsric Ltd., who share our commitment to offering our customers first class service and a great cup of coffee. The store will be open 6am 7pm Mondays to Fridays, 7am 7pm Saturdays, and 8am 6pm Sundays.
