Bonfire parties across the region to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday

Beacons were lit around North Devon last night (Thursday) to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday.

Her majesty lit the first one at Windsor, paving the way for a trail of more than 1,000 bonfires across the country.

In North Devon there were beacons at Codden Hill near Barnstaple, Bideford’s Pollyfield Centre, Torrington, Buckland Brewer, Holsworthy and Woolacombe.

At several events, communities turned out to enjoy a variety of activities and refreshments.
