Construction work at Barnstaples Anchorwood Bank site is well under way.Asdas store at the site is beginning to take shape, with the supermarkets steel structure now in place. Contractors Simons Group started work in April, with the 26-week project expected to open in the autumn. Work started work in May. A spokesman for Asda said: We are delighted that our planned new store in Barnstaple is taking shape. We are looking forward to welcoming customers later this year. The store will have 40,000sq ft of shop floor space, which will include clothing store George, a deli and a cafeteria. Wessex Investors, the developers behind the Anchorwood Bank site, are finalising plans for the Grade II listed Oliver Buildings. This week, the developer said news on the building would be delivered shortly. No new names have been announced for the park, which will feature Next, DFS, Frankie and Bennys and Chiquito.
