A Barnstaple cake-maker has accepted her biggest challenge yet and sculpted an edible replica of Lundy Island.Kirsty Robb, owner of Crumb Creations in Queens Walk, was comissioned to make the cake for a 50th birthday party. It took the 26-year-old a week to hand-carve and shape the cake - complete with a working lighthouse - despite having never visited the island. She said: I had to use maps and photos alone to carve and make the cake and research through Google the specific landmarks that the customer had asked for. Ive never been to Lundy so was relying on research and photos. Kirsty posted photos of the cake on Facebook which have been shared dozens of times. She added: I loved seeing my customers reaction when she saw it.
