Around 100 now-former Year 11 pupils celebrated the end of their GCSEs at the South Molton Community College prom.

The students arrived at the Park Hotel in Barnstaple on Friday night in everything from limousines to tractors – and some even came on horseback.

Everyone was dressed like superstars, with a formal meal followed by an evening of dancing.

Head of year, Naresh Patel, said: “The evening had a touch of sadness to it as I watched the children that I first met five years ago really blossom into young adults.

“However the main feeling that I had was a huge sense of pride as I now see them all go off into the big wide world.

“I feel that the prom will be a memory that many cherish for years to come.”
