Residents are busy with clean-up operations this afternoon (Saturday) following the earlier downpours.
North Devon is busy sweeping up the pieces after heavy flooding hit communities across the region this morning (Saturday).
Muddiford was inundated, with deep surface water causing problems, though it is understood it is now mostly clear.
Hele Cornmill also suffered flooding and big-hearted Hele Bay residents turned out to help owner Kathy Jones, while husband David’s car was stuck in flood water on the Marwood road.
The road between Sawmills and Watermouth is flooded, but passable with care.
A tide of mud has washed out into Combe Martin bay from the flood water run off and several sides roads have been choked with debris as mud and stones was washed onto the main road. Residents have spent much of the afternoon clearing up with assistance from the fire service and police.
