Thousands of people packed onto the sunny quayside on Sunday to enjoy the town’s annual Water Festival.

VISITORS packed onto Bideford Quay on Sunday to enjoy the annual Water Festival, with some jumping at the chance to get involved.

Dare devils took to the skies in a 175ft crane to dive into the oncoming crowds as the brand new bungee jump took centre stage.

The event, organised by Bideford Rotary Club, was held in aid of several local charities and saw many vessels and boats coming in via the river.

Visitors were treated to rides, explored the RNLI Appledore lifeboat and wandered the stalls and attractions on the Quay.

Morris dancers entertained the crowds, local clubs took part in gig racing and there was a fun fair and food stalls to keep everyone happy.

Organisers said more than £6,000 was raised on the day for Northam Lodge, Macmillan Nurses and Children’s Hospice South West.
