Huge crowds gathered on Torrington Commons last night (Saturday) to watch a giant charity bonfire. The replica Trumpton village, based on the 1970s television programme, went up in flames. The evening included entertainment from The Plough youth theatre and a special episode of Trumpton on the large screens. The bonfire was a culmination of nearly two yearss planning and construction by the Torrington Cavaliers. Before and after the bonfire the sky was lit with a fireworks display, with plenty of oohs and aahs from the crowd. The event was raising money for Macmillan and The Plough Arts Centre.Scroll through the gallery above for more photos from Torringtons giant charity bonfire.
