Thousands of people packed out Bideford Quay for a bumper new year’s celebration.

Fancy dress characters gathered together, cheering in 2015 to the chimes of St Mary’s Church and a fantastic firework finale.

The celebrations followed a whole day of events throughout the town.

At the pannier market children enjoyed a fancy dress party, and Titan the Robot wowed the crowds gathered in the streets.

A Bideford’s Got Talent contest took to the stage on the Quay, as well as a performance from X Factor finalist Shelley Smith.

There was also a world record attempt to create the longest ever conga line on roller skates, shown in the video by Tracey Babb (above).

Organiser Phil Morgan thanked everyone on the Bideford Festivals Committee Facebook group who volunteered their time to the event.

He said: “I don’t really know where to start, this year’s event certainly exceeded my own personal expectations and I think, most people’s expectations really.
