Staff at Perrigo UK in Braunton have a massive donation of £18,000 to help people affected by cancer in North Devon. They voted Macmillan Cancer Support as their chosen charity of the year and are delighted their donation will directly support Macmillans living with and beyond cancer nurse John Fletcher-Cullum, who will be based at North Devon District Hospital. Rob McElfatrick from the Perrigo Charitable Foundation said: Our staff really wanted to make a difference in our community and so we are delighted to be able to support this role and enhance the care of local people living with cancer. Macmillan representatives John and fundraising manager Sian Ward-Edwards went along to the factory on Friday to thank some of the 550 staff and explain more about where their support goes. John said: My role is about delivering the recovery package in North Devon and this means implementing services to help people living with cancer as a long-term chronic condition. Sian added: We are absolutely delighted with this amazing donation as we rely on the support of businesses and individuals to help the growing number of people affected by cancer. We are really proud of the work we are developing to directly help people in North Devon and this donation will help extend this and allow us to reach more people.
