Paddington Bear packs his bag for Barnstaple

Children’s favourite to make special appearance at station on Monday.

PADDINGTON Bear will be packing plenty of marmalade sandwiches for a long distance train journey to Barnstaple on Monday.

The bear from deepest, darkest Peru will be making a special appearance at Barnstaple Station between 2pm and 3.20pm.

The visit is part of a pre-Easter tour of the South West, organised by the Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership, which works to promote the Tarka Line and other branch lines in the two counties.

The partnership’s Rebecca Catterall said: “It is really great to be welcoming Paddington Bear to Barnstaple station. I hope we get lots of local families coming along to say hello.”
