SIR - We would like to express our sincere thanks to lots of people across Devon and not just in our local community.

What a fantastic day we had on Saturday, July 18 at The Clinton Hall, Merton.

The Friends of The Clinton School would like to say how overwhelmed we were by the support and generosity of our local community, before and on the day.

The event was a lot of hard work, but we are so pleased that it will all benefit our children at the school.

Our biggest thanks must go to Tony Hunt at Taw and Torridge Coaches without whose knowledge, contacts and enthusiasm the rally would never have been possible. Thanks must also go to his P.A, Yvonne ,who put in hours of work assisting Tony, and to the staff at Taw and Torridge Coaches who helped make the rally a success.

Special thanks to Philip Collins who generously gave the Rally Plaques.

If you were involved in any way either by bringing your vehicle to show, helping or coming along for the day we would like to give you a huge thank you.

Figures have yet to be finalised, but it is approximately 3,300!! We are hoping to run the event again next year, so mark Merton Vintage Rally and Summer Fayre in your diary for a Saturday in July, 2010. You can e-mail us on mertonrally@googlemail.com.
