The £1.5million North Devon Cancer and Wellbeing Centre Appeal has just received a generous £50,000 donation.

An appeal to build a new cancer and wellbeing centre in North Devon has nearly reached £300,000.

The appeal by Over and Above received a welcome boost of £50,000 from the North Devon Cancer Care Centre Trust (NDCCCT).

NDCCCT previously donated £700,000 towatds the Seamoor Unit, and before that paid for the first chemotherapy unit at North Devon District Hospital in the 1990s.

James Bonetta, chairman of NDCCCT, said: “It’s wonderful to be able to support this appeal and we’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us, and the volunteers in our Westward Ho! charity shop.”

Ian Roome, Over and Above fundraising manager, added: “We’re very greatful to NDCCCT for their continued support and their very generous donation.”
