Barnstaple Cats Protection is fund rasing for tiny Ella, who needs an operation for a normal life

Barnstaple Cats Protection is launching an urgent appeal to help a tiny kitten that needs a major operation.

Ella was the only survivor of a litter and lost a foot and half her tail when her mother tried to chew through the umbilical cord at birth.

The brave kitten survived, but she will require her leg to be amputated or it could cause problems as she gets older and the charity is determined to raise the money it needs.

Sue Carder, from the charity, said: “Our policy is to never put a healthy cat to sleep and we will always try everything to give a cat or kitten the best chance of a healthy, happy life.”
