New bike shop, Carb Cycles, is hosting an open and demo day in new Barnstaple premises today (Thursday).

A trio of cycling enthusiasts have opened a brand new shop in Barnstaple.

Carb Cycles, in the former sheepskin factory on Pilton Causeway, is offering bike repairs and British brands - plus a lounge with coffee, cake and a log burner for cyclists to use for meeting.

Mike Parker, co-owner with Simon Harmer and Jon Gay, said the business started in his garage in June last year.

"We started offering repairs and coffee - we wanted it to be personal and even now we're in a bigger premises we don't want to lose that," he said.

"We've got some exciting plans and are hoping to hold meets in the future and ride outs."

Carb Cycles will be hosting an open day from 10am on today (Thursday) with a Ridley Demo and food and hot drinks.
