Open day at Bideford Youth Centre
COME to Bideford Youth Centre and see what the town’s young people are doing
Bideford Youth Centre is holding an open day next Wednesday afternoon and evening (October 27) to raise awareness of the activities the young people are involved in and to raise money for art and cooking supplies to use in the centre’s work.
Between 3pm and 9pm there will be tea and cakes, art made by young people will be for sale and there will be activities to take part in, including a Wii basketball competition.
“We have many projects going on at the moment and would like to let the residents of Bideford, in particular the parents of current and prospective members, know about the importance of the youth club and the social education that goes on here,” said youth support worker Ellie Colven.
The youth centre on The Pill in Bideford has up to 80 people at its youth club meetings on Wednesday nights. It also holds daily after-school sessions from Monday to Thursday each week and is currently involved in a Thursday night music project.
