Olympic inspired success for young writer

Ilfracombe junior School pupil Dani Cook reaches national finals of top competition.

AN Olympic-inspired poem has helped to push an Ilfracombe Junior School pupil to the finals of a national Rotary Club writing competition.

Dani Cook won both the Ilfracombe Rotary Club and Devon county finals with her work entitled ‘If I were an Olympian’.

At the highly competitive national stage the Year 6 pupil received a finalist’s certificate. The judges said her poem ‘epitomised the Olympic spirit and flowed well’.
