ONS statistics claim populations will continue to swell in North Devon and Torridge

The population in northern Devon will continue to rise by more than 7% by 2021, according to ONS statistics.

The populations of Torridge and North Devon will both increase in the next decade to 71,300 and 98,200 respectively, the Office for National Statistics data said. That would represent a 7.3% jump on the 2011 figures.

The combined population of North Devon and Torridge jumped by 11,200 to 158,000 between 2001 and 2011, and the statistics suggest this rate of growth is unlikely to stop in the near future.
