The annual fair had traction engine rides, Maypole dancing, vintage cars and motorcycles, local food and drink vendors, fairground rides, Morris dancing and Appledore Band. There was also a Viking encampment and live combat action too from living history group Hildsvin. In between the battles and trying out Viking armour and weapons for size, visitors were able to stroll about the encampment and see how the northern invaders and settlers lived. Legend has it that Northams Bloody Corner was the site of a great battle between Hubba the Dane and Saxon forces in the 9th century. The crowning of the May King and Queen Leo Dymond and Molly Sing, both aged four- was carried out by the mayor and mayoress of Northam. Northam Town Council would once again like to thank all the visitors, stall holders, volunteers and participants who have helped to make the fair a success.
