Winners will be revealed at the Boston Tea Party on Friday night.

Inspirational North Devon people will be honoured at a special event in Barnstaple on Friday night.

Nearly 100 nominations were received for North Devon Against Domestic Violence’s (NDADA) 2017 Inspiring People Awards, to be presented at the Boston Tea Party.

Awards will be given to an inspirational artist; sportsperson; environmentalist; person under 21; person over 70; as well as a community superstar.

The awards follow last year’s Inspiring Women Awards.

Susan Wallis, NDADA chief executive, said: “This year’s awards continue to publicise the vital work NDADA does to support and keep families safe.

“And by celebrating both men and women of all ages, who play a motivating and inspiring role in our communities, we hope to introduce our work to an even wider audience.”

Issue five of NDADA’s Re:Story magazine will also be launched at the event.
