Council will no longer be posting calendars to every household

North Devon refuse collection calendars are available online soon, but will no longer be posted to all homes in the area.

North Devon Council said the calendars would be available on the internet later this month, but it had decided to cancel the post option to save around £18,000.

The calendars show when household refuse collections are due, running from December 2015 to November 2016.

Councillor Rodney Cann, the council's member for the environment, said downloading a calendar from the website was very simple and straightforward.

"Not only can you download and print off your refuse calendar if you want to, but the page gives you information about your next refuse and recycling collections, as well as any service alerts that may be in place," he said.

Those who do not have any internet access but still need a refuse calendar are being asked to contact Customer Services on 01271 374776.

Waste and recycling kerbside collections have been confirmed over the festive period, with some day changes as a result of the three upcoming bank holidays.

Calendars are available from northdevon.gov.uk/collectiondays or to check collection dates go to www.northdevon.gov.uk or visit the Waste and Recycling in North Devon Facebook page.
