Officers have confirmed the names of the victims after the collision near Landkey Junction on Monday (July 31) morning.

A mother and her two 12-year-old twins who died in a collision on the North Devon Link Road on Monday (July 31) have been named.

Police said Jane Baker-Lockett, 43, and her two 12-year-old children, James and Amy Gaskin, died following the incident near Landkey Junction,

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: "Emergency services were called at 8.25am to the A361 at Barnstaple following a two vehicle collision between a white Kia Sportage travelling towards Barnstaple and a lorry travelling in the opposite direction."

According to officers, the woman's husband, the stepfather of the two children, was travelling in the vehicle in front with their 14-year-old son, and witnessed the collision.

The road was closed for nine hours whilst officers from the Exeter Serious Collision Investigation Unit examined the scene.
