The weekend saw communities across North Devon grab litter picks as part of the official Clean for the Queen campaign. On Saturday and Sunday people took part in litter picks at Fremington, Bickington, Yelland, Roundswell and Ilfracombe. North Devon Council has supported the scheme by loaning equipment to local groups and taking any rubbish collected. Clean for the Queen is a nationwide effort to tidy up neighbourhoods in time to celebrate the Queens 90th birthday on April 21. If you missed the weekends clean-up, you can still take part in the Team Up To Clean Up campaign, encouraging people to organise their own litter picks, with the council offering advice and loan ing equipment.
