North Devon Day is being celebrated once again this year to raise money for North Devon Hospice.Individuals and groups are being invited to organise events throughout the region on Saturday, May 23.North Devon Day was launched last year by Teresa Crossman, whose family designed the private enterprise North Devon Flag.A celebration was held in the new Barnstaple Square and more than 20 events were arranged elsewhere."The really great thing about North Devon Day is that everyone can do something," said Gerard Fawcitt, of the hospice fund-raising team."It could be a simple cream tea, a car wash, an open garden, or anything else you enjoy and can invite your friends to come along and support."I am sure there will be plenty of other ideas that people can come up with and support our North Devon Hospice."We can only raise funds in North Devon and we look after more than 80 local people every day."So you can help us to make a difference by supporting us and enjoying yourselves on North Devon Day at the same.Teresa Crossman will be giving organisers of every event a free North Devon flag to fly on the day.Events will be publicised by the Gazette.If you would like to organise an event, contact the hospice fund-raising team on (01271) 344248 and discuss your ideas.
