This means there were nearly 1,000 fewer victims of crime in the region than in the corresponding period last year.
There were 366 fewer victims of criminal damage, incidents of which declined by 25 per cent.
Victims of serious aquisitive crime went down by 90, reflecting a 15 per cent reduction.

And there was an eight per cent reduction in vehicle crime, with only 368 incidents reported in 32 weeks.

The North Devon area's detection rate, at 33 per cent, was the highest in Devon and third best in the entire Devon and Cornwall force.
Public satisfaction with the police overall was put at 88.3 per cent, the best figure in the force.
Customer satisfaction with regard to anti-social behaviour was recorded at 84.4 per cent, the second best in the force. Response times to incidents were also better than the force average.
North Devon police chief Supt Kevin Harris said: "Best of all, the April to September figures for public confidence in police and local authority dealing with anti-social behaviour issues which matter to them have us moving closer to the 84 per cent target and second in the force by a whisker.
