North Devon cancer patients have rated the care they receive as better than the national average. Northern Devon Healthcare Trust has achieved an 8.9 rating for its cancer healthcare services from the National Cancer Patient Experience Survey. Patients were asked questions concerning treatment, their involvement in their treatment, the manner in which they were treated and who to contact if they had concerns regarding their treatment. They were asked to rate their overall care on a scale of 0 (very poor) to 10 (very good), with the national average being 8.7. Lorna Collingwood-Burke, chief nursing officer at NEW Devon Clinical Commissioning Group, said: These results show us that the vast majority of our cancer patients are very positive about the NHS care they are getting, which is really pleasing f. High-quality cancer treatment and high-quality patient experience are always a priority across Devon, and our staff always aim to improve on the excellent work they do.
