Headway members and volunteers offered chance to handle animals at Safe Haven
People living with a brain injury enjoyed a trip to the Safe Haven Exotics Reptile Centre, near Codden Hill.
Members and volunteers of the Headway North Devon group spent time looking at rescued lizards, turtles and snakes that had been abandoned by their previous owners.
They enjoyed a talk by owner Marc Harris and were even able to handle some of the animals.
The group, which meets at the Salvation Army Church in Barnstaple every Tuesday, even adopted a Chinese water dragon, which in common with some of the members, suffers occasional seizures.
The Headway, day centre provides a safe environment where members can meet and enjoy games, chatting, workshops and talks in the company of others who understand the difficulties of living with an acquired brain injury.
