An amateur photographer from Torrington has had one of her pictures displayed nationwide after winning a competiton. Kim Stone was selected as a winner of Jessops Share Your Summer campaign, a national competition looking for the best summer snaps. Her striking shot of sunlight creeping through trees at RHS Rosemoor was chosen to be displayed in Jessops stores up and down the country. The 40-year-old said she was over the moon to have won. She said: I was really chuffed, the picture would be in all of the 52 stores across the country - its mind blowing. Ive had an interest in photography for about ten years, but its in the last two years that Ive started taking it more seriously. Kim, who is a member of Taw and Torridge Camera Club and North Devon Camera Club recalled putting her knowledge of her home town to use to get the winning photo. I woke to a misty morning and anticipated Rosemoor would be a fabulous location to catch the dawns light rays creeping through the trees as the mist lifted - I wasnt disappointed, she said. The Rosemoor shot will be displayed in the Share Your Summer exhibition at the Project Space Gallery in Bermondsey from August 8-14. Click here to return to our homepage for more North Devon news.
