North Devon students have been celebrating excellent A-level results again this year.

Students at Petroc, Bideford College, Shebbear, West Buckland, Ilfracombe Academy and Kingsley School all celebrated great results.

Nationally, more than one in four A-levels were awarded an A or A* this year - the highest proportion for six years, national figures show.

But the proportion handed the very top result has fallen to its lowest level since 2013.

Petroc celebrated more than 99 per cent of students passing for the seventh consecutive year.

Bideford College also had a 99 per cent pass rate, while Shebbear College had a 100 per cent pass rate.

At Kingsley School, 100 per cent of students received grades A* or A in all science subjects.

And in West Buckland there was a 100 per cent pass rate, with 77.9 per cent achieving A* to B.
