IN the run-up to the Christmas festivities Torridge District Council is launching a No Butts campaign, highlighting the problems caused by smoke-related litter.

Torridge's Enviro-Crime Officer Andy Fenge said: "Discarded cigarette butts are litter, the same as crisp packets or take away wrappers, and anyone caught throwing them on the ground could be faced with a �75 fine. We urge people to act responsibly and bin that butt!
