New non-executive directors offer hospital board a wealth of private and public sector experience

TWO new non-executive directors have been appointed to serve as non-executive directors on the board of Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust.

Chris Snow CBE and Nick Lewis both joined the board on August 1 for a four-year period. Each will receive £6,096 per year.

Mr Snow, from Lifton, has served in the Royal Navy for 35 years, where he was head of training, education and operational standards.

He is a member of the Institute of Directors, the Nautical Institute, the Honourable Company of Master Mariners and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. He is an alumnus of the Windsor Leadership Trust and sits on the Kelly College Governing Body. He is also a Deputy Lieutenant of Devon.

Mr Lewis, from Crediton, has worked for more than 30 years in the public and private sector and is currently deputy CEO of the South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA).

He is a qualified chartered accountant and has worked in the services and construction sectors and moved to Devon in 1986 to become director of finance for Devon and Cornwall Housing Association.

Mr Lewis is as a voluntary board member of South Devon Rural HA and was this month appointed as chairman for North Devon Housing.

Trust Board Chairman Roger French welcomed both appointments of both. He said their extensive experience of the private and public sectors would be “invaluable in helping us take the organisation forwards”.
