Generous supporters help fund new van for re-homing charity

Barnstaple and District Cats Protection has taken delivery of a new branch van thanks to the generosity of its supporters.

Co-ordinator Lydia Shelton from the charity said it would prove invaluable for day-today work of rescuing cats and kittens, as well as help raise awareness.

“We are incredibly grateful for every gift we receive, no matter what the size,” she said.

“Even the smallest gifts help us to provide cats with food, a warm bed, veterinary attention and most importantly of all, find them a loving home. “It is thanks to the wonderful kindness of people who remember Cats Protection in their wills that we have been able to fund neutering of feral cats, support campaigns to encourage people to get their domestic cats neutered and buy cat pens for our new fosterers

“These special gifts are a very welcome boost to our own fundraising efforts which are vital to our work helping abandoned and unwanted cats and kittens.

“We rely on gifts in wills to help us keep the special promise that underpins all of our work: that we will never put a healthy cat to sleep.”
