New village homes to rent

EIGHT local families with strong connections to the village of St Giles in the Wood, Torrington, have moved into new homes provided by Devon and Cornwall Housing.

The eight new homes for rent have been supported with investment of more than 500,000 from the Homes and Communities Agency, with an additional funding from the district council.

They have been delivered as the result of a partnership between the parish and district councils, the HCA, DCH and the Devon Rural Housing Enabler and built by Pearce Construction, completing around five years of work to deliver new homes in the village.

The sustainable houses have an innovative air source heat pump system providing heating and hot water, which will cut running costs.
