The tea rooms at Tapeley Park have a hot new addition. The Exmoor Beastro, which cooks most of its food on outdoor wood-burning fires, has set up shop at the stately home. Alex Nutt and Fiona OMahoney have brought their successful Exmoor Beastro brand from Dulverton to Instow and are offering something a little different along with Tapeleys traditional cream teas. They will be making the most of the organic produce that comes from the gardens, as well as using outdoor wood fires to cook many of their signature dishes. This traditional cooking method is said to add a distinct flavour to the food, and helped chef Alex win a Cannonball chef award. As a chef it is a dream come true to be able to work with the gardeners here and have access to so many flavours and wonderful organic produce, he said. The Beastro has always been a destination restaurant and were looking forward to introducing customers old and new to the delights of Tapeley. Hector Christie, whose family own Tapeley, said: Were really excited to have The Exmoor Beastro join us. Their philosophy towards food is a perfect match for us and were delighted that the organic produce from our gardens will be showcased in this way.
