NORTH Devon Scouts have applied to build an air rifle and archery range at its Collard Bridge campsite at Riversmead, near Snapper.
The local troop is also asking North Devon Council for permission for a new wet weather activity and refuge building, as well as the continued use and extension of the existing Rendle Hut.
It is hoped the improvements will provide a recreational and training centre for local and visiting Scouts, as well as local community organisations and schools.
The campsite was first used by the Scouts in the 1980s and has become well-established part of the District Scouts which has been operating locally for more than 100 years.
