Petroc is inviting people to come and celebrate the opening of its multi-million-pound engineering centre.A special event will be held on Thursday, October 15, to give people a chance to look around the new building. Neil Hookway, Petocs director for resources, said: We recognise and highly value the importance of investing in the local community and the new facility will create inspiring working environments for students on a wide range of engineering study programmes, to support a seamless transition from training to employment. In 2014, the college secured £10.8million of investment as part of the Governments College Capital Investment Fund (CCIF) to transform large parts of its estate. A brand new lifestyle and tourism centre is also being built at the front of the college, which is due to open next year. The engineering block was completed to cater for the growing demand for specialist training in North Devon. The grand opening will take place at the campus on Old Sticklepath Hill between 2pm and 4pm.
