The glass-fronted store in Clovelly Road will be open in time for Christmas and is set to be a ‘Lidl of the future’.
Work is progressing on Bideford’s brand new Lidl store, set to become a concept for the future of the brand.
The glass-fronted building on Clovelly Road will be a ‘Lidl of the future’ according to regional head of property, James Mitchell.
It will be larger than most other stores and although there is no exact opening date, it is on track to open in early December.
James said: “There has been much anticipation for this new Lidl store and are pleased that the build is progressing well.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the local community for their continued support, and very much look forward to opening our doors and offering our fresh, quality, great value products in the not too distant future.”
The Bideford Lidl will have ‘state-of-the-art’ facilities as well as an in-store bakery, longer tills, customer toilets, baby changing and ample parking.
It will rival the brand new Aldi store, which opened up the road at the Atlantic Park site in August.
The Premier Inn and Brewers Fayre restaurant at the same site will be opening early next year, and the new Starbucks drive-thru will open ‘this winter’.
