Toller Beattie solicitors has announced the appointment of Mark Roome as a partner of the firm.Mark, aged 32, has been with the firm since January 2005, after opting to return to his North Devon roots following a successful early career as a barrister in the City of London. Within a year of joining Toller Beattie he qualified as a solicitor and thus belongs to that rare group of individuals who are qualified in both branches of the law.Over the last three years Mark has worked in the firm's Commercial Department, where he will continue in his new position.He was brought up in Barnstaple, where his parents continue to live, and attended Pilton School from where he went to Cardiff University to study for a degree in law. He and his partner Janette, who is a local girl and Head of Science at Braunton School, recently celebrated the birth of their second child.Commenting on his appointment, managing partner Robert Beattie said: "Mark has made a substantial contribution to the continued success of the firm since he joined us three years ago. I now welcome him as a partner, in which position I am absolutely confident he will continue to help expand and develop our services to commercial and business clients.
