A Bideford shop owner is opening a brand new interiors store this week - but the finished result is being kept closely under wraps until the big reveal.

Josie’s Interiors opens in Cooper Street on Thursday evening, in the former DJ’s Sports Bar which has been empty for nine years.

Owner James Webster, who started up Josie’s in Mill Street three years ago, said his dream was always to expand to a bigger unit.

The new shop is a huge leap for the 24-year-old, and has seen him take on three new staff with another two vacancies to fill.

He said: “I knew I needed more space but it was just finding the right location.

“As soon as I looked around this shop I knew it was the one; even among the dead pigeons I knew where everything was going to go.”

The new shop has been the subject of a complete renovation, with builders working on the site since October last year.

Every single section of the shop is filled with carefully-chosen interiors which have been hand-picked by James, and promises the ‘wow’ factor on first sight.

The new opening will see Josie’s in Mill Street close for a couple of weeks and reopen as a quirky gift shop.

See the new Cooper Street shop at the open evening on Thursday, 5-9pm.
